Indexability checker
Whether Google can index one page: its status, every redirect, robots.txt, noindex, the canonical, sitemap presence and hreflang.
WHAT IT READS
- The page itself, hop by hop through its redirects, as static HTML: status, X-Robots-Tag, robots meta tags, canonical, hreflang and title.
- Your robots.txt for Googlebot, and your sitemaps (the ones robots.txt names, or /sitemap.xml) to see whether they list the page.
WHAT IT DOES NOT TELL YOU
- Indexable is not indexed: only Google's own index can say whether a page is in it.
- Static HTML only: a canonical or a robots tag written by JavaScript is not seen.
- We read at most ten sitemap files; on a larger site the sitemap check says how far it got rather than "not found".
